Nintendo Switch 2 Durability Test: Resilience Revealed!

Today on Gameranx, we embarked on a series of grueling tests to push the limits of the Nintendo Switch 2. With the finesse of a sledgehammer, we subjected this modern marvel to a sit test, where a hefty 190 lb man plopped down on it multiple times. Surprisingly, the Switch 2 emerged unscathed, proving its resilience to everyday mishaps like accidental sittings. Moving on to the Joy-Cons, we tested their attachment strength by attempting to yank them off without pressing the release button. While they did pop off relatively easily, it's not something you'd do accidentally during intense gameplay.
Next up was the liquid test, where we drenched the Switch 2 with a spill of Mountain Dew Baja Blast. Despite our reluctance to commit this sacrilege, the Switch 2 remained unfazed, showcasing its ability to withstand liquid mishaps without a hitch. We then delved into the realm of grime and filth, smearing our hands with Doritos dust and mud before engaging in some intense gaming sessions. Surprisingly, the Switch 2's design simplicity proved to be a blessing, as it resisted the grime and maintained functionality, unlike its counterparts. The resilience of the Switch 2 in the face of such unspeakable horrors was truly commendable.
In a nod to the real-world scenarios, we conducted a light scratch test using keys and rough handling, simulating the hazards of everyday life. Despite our cringing anticipation, the Switch 2's screen remained unscathed, thanks to its built-in protector. Moving on to the drop tests, we focused on the Joy-Cons' durability by subjecting them to falls from varying heights. While they did pop off at 5 ft, the Switch 2 itself survived with minor scratches, a testament to its robust construction. Even at 8 ft, where one Joy-Con suffered a catastrophic failure, the Switch 2 soldiered on, proving its mettle in the face of adversity.
